Catterick’s 2025/26 National Hunt season reaches its finale on Wednesday 4 March with the ever-popular Countryside Ladies’ Day – an afternoon of thrilling jumps racing and countryside-inspired winter fashion.
Alongside the six-race card, racegoers will be invited to take part in fashion competitions including Best Dressed Lady and Best Accessory. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather during the National Hunt season and, as a result, the judges will be looking for Countryside-inspired outfits with both style and practicality important factors!
The 2026 Best Dressed Lady Competition has been kindly sponsored by La Fille Rouge, and Catterick’s Jumps Season Best Dressed Lady will win a handmade cape from La Fille Rouge and a pair of Horseshoe Package tickets for the racecourse’s summer Ladies’ Day in August!
La Fille Rouge creates bespoke tweed, wool and waxed cotton capes, wraps and accessories, each handmade by Yvonne Scales on her North Yorkshire farm. Yvonne will also be attending with her stand on the day to showcase some of her designs, offering a retail opportunity for fashion enthusiasts, alongside the racing action.
Additionally, Millbry Hill Country Store will award a £100 gift voucher for the Best Accessory, so whether you have a favourite fedora, statement gloves or standout boots, make sure you wear them on Wednesday 4 March for a chance to win.
Catterick’s Champion Trainer and Jockey will also be decided by the end of racing on 4 March. Following a double at the last meeting, Jonjo O’Neill Jr and Jonjo and AJ O’Neill sit at the top of the leaderboards on 5 wins each so far this season. However, the title race remains wide open, with three jockeys and four trainers just one win behind on four victories each – with only two fixtures left this season, it could all come down to the season finale on Countryside Ladies’ Day.
The first race on Wednesday 4 March is due to take place at 2.10pm, and the last race at 4.40pm. Also on the card is the Happy 106th Birthday Frank Buttery Handicap Hurdle Race at 3.40pm, kindly sponsored by Sky Bet.
Isabella Preston-Thompson, Commercial Graduate at Flutter UKI said: “From racehorse ownership to a Go Racing in Yorkshire’s season ticket, Frank Buttery is the definition of a true racing fan. His loyalty to the sport is unmatched and we at Sky Bet are honoured to host his 106th birthday celebrations, as part of our Fan Spotlight campaign.”
The Fan Spotlight campaign is a Sky Bet initiative to reward committed and loyal fans across all sports. Racing fans can nominate anyone that they feel deserves recognition by emailing isabella.preston-thompson@flutteruki.com.
The gates will be open to the public from 12 noon, with all facilities available from then onwards.
Racegoers are encouraged to book in advance, with savings of up to £5 per person available until 48 hours before raceday. In addition, the popular Horseshoe Package – which includes Grandstand & Paddock admission, a racecard and the Dish of the Day from the Horseshoe Café Bar – offers excellent value for money. The package is priced at £25 on Countryside Ladies’ Day and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
