Catterick Racecourse is set for a thrilling day of racing and entertainment on Saturday, 18 October, as the 2025 Flat Season continues with its feature race - the William Hill Catterick Dash - alongside live coverage of Champions Day from Ascot.
With an earlier start to proceedings, gates will open to the public from 10am, and the first race is scheduled for 11am. The on-track action will conclude with the final race at 1.55pm, but the racecourse will remain open until approximately 5pm, giving racegoers the chance to enjoy the action from the Champions Day meeting at Ascot on the big screens and TVs throughout the course.
The seven-race card opens with the penultimate round of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Future Stars Apprentice Series, showcasing the region’s top emerging jockey talent. Mason Paetel currently leads the series, which concludes at Doncaster three weeks later.
The feature race of the day, the William Hill Catterick Dash, takes place at 1.20pm. This five-furlong sprint is Catterick’s richest race of the season, offering a prize fund of £30,000 and expected to attract some of the fastest sprinters. The final race of the afternoon, the William Hill Each Way Extra Veterans’ Handicap Stakes, will be run at 1.55pm before the screens switch to the action from Ascot.
Entertainment off the track includes live music from singer-songwriter Elena Larkin, who will be performing throughout the day outside Longshots Sports Bar
“We’re excited to welcome racegoers for one of the highlights of our season,” said Emma Stevenson, General Commercial Manager at Catterick Racecourse. “With the William Hill Catterick Dash, apprentice action, and live Champions Day coverage, there’s something for every racing fan.”
The meeting on Saturday, 18 October marks the penultimate fixture of the 2025 Flat Season at Catterick, with the final raceday taking place on Tuesday, 28 October. Falling within the half-term holidays, the Flat Finale offers a great opportunity for a day at the races during the school break - and as always, accompanied under-18s are admitted free of charge to all Catterick fixtures.
The final fixture of the season will also determine Catterick’s Flat Champion Trainer, Jockey and Owner for 2025. Tim Easterby leads the way in the Trainer standings - with 11 wins so far - while the Jockeys’ Championship is very close with Callum Rodriguez currently leading with 6 wins and Jason Hart, Sean Kirrane and David Allan all sitting just behind on five wins each. In the Owners’ race, the Micky Hammond Owners Group (M.H.O.G) currently leads with three victories so far this season.
For those looking to enhance their raceday experience, hospitality packages are available in the Winning Streak Restaurant, offering a seated lunch with excellent views of both the parade ring and the racecourse.
Advance and group booking discounts are available until 48 hours prior to each raceday and can be booked by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478 or online at www.catterickbridge.co.uk. Tickets will also be available to purchase at the gates on the day. Concessions for students, those aged 65 and over, and discounted military tickets are also available both in advance and on the day.
