Family days are among the most popular and exciting days in the fixture calendar here at Catterick Racecourse, attracting both racing enthusiasts and families for a fun day out. With three family day fixtures this summer holidays at Catterick Racecourse, we are offering a mix of free entertainment for children and thrilling races for everyone to enjoy
TO KICK THINGS OFF: The Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival Family Day
This fixture takes place on Wednesday 23 July – the first of our 3 family fixtures this school holiday. Sponsored by Sky Bet, the summer festival celebrates all that is great about Flat Racing, with 9 days of thrilling racing across 8 different Yorkshire racecourses. This year the summer festival is also offering a challenge to trainers! A bonus of £5000 will be given to the first trainer who manages to win over five different days of the summer festival, starting on Friday 18 July at Pontefract and ending on Saturday 26 July at York.
Alongside our racing action, families can enjoy complimentary children’s entertainment within the Course Enclosure including a Free Fall, bouncy castle and face painting! These activities are also available to all attendees in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure – free of charge.
Ahead of the first race, due off at 2.30pm, a fundraising event will take place as the jockeys take on ‘Paddock n’ Chips’ football in the parade ring in a bid to raise funds for the Charity Partner of the week – Racing Welfare.
AUGUST STARTS WITH: The Salute Our Heroes Family Day
